Birth Doula Support across the Cotswolds and surrounding areas

With you every step of the way: education, support and advocacy from pregnancy to the early weeks

Why have a doula?

Whether this is your first pregnancy or you've been here before, a doula gives you someone who is genuinely in your corner. That doesn't just mean being in the room. It means being fully present for the whole journey.

I've been a birth and postnatal doula for 13 years, supporting families across Cheltenham, Gloucester, Stroud, Cirencester, Tewkesbury and the Cotswolds. I attend home births and births at Aveta Birth Centre, Stroud Maternity and Gloucestershire Royal, as well as the surrounding county hospitals and birth centres.

My support might mean working through your options with honest, evidence-based information, preparing you and your partner for labour, or simply being the steady presence that helps you trust what you already know. And when things get hard, as at some point they usually do, I'm there: practically, emotionally and without judgement. I work alongside your midwives, not instead of them.

“Alex was such a gift to us during the birthing of our fourth son, at home in a pool. In the months before the birth she was there to meet up with and talk through any concerns, which was a great comfort, and she was an invaluable member of our support team during it, working seamlessly with the midwifery team. It was an amazing birth, made the smoother because of Alex's lovely presence and assistance.”
