Supporting you to birth your way.

Birth and postnatal doula services and antenatal education across Gloucestershire, Bristol, Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas

Your doula

Doula support that's grounded in evidence and led by you. I offer emotional and physical support, honest information, and advocacy — so that whatever path your birth and postpartum takes, you're not navigating it alone.

  • Pregnant woman standing in front of a mirror, holding her belly, with her reflection visible.

    Antenatal Education

1-2-1 antenatal classes / sessions in your own home. 4 sessions lasting approx 2 hours each. I can tailor these to suit you but they will include as a minimum; birth education, birth planning, pain management, advocating for your preferences, birth partner support, basic newborn care and feeding.

  • A person with wet hair leaning over an inflatable pool, wearing a floral swimsuit, with small acne scars on the shoulder.

    Birth Doula Support

1-2-1 doula support throughout your pregnancy, birth and postnatally. I will tailor a package of care and support as unique as you are. Having a doula is an unbiased resource, comfort and practical care, an advocate and essential member of your birth team who places you at the centre of your birth experience.

  • A man and woman holding a newborn baby in a hospital bed, with the man kissing the baby's forehead and the woman looking lovingly at the baby.

    Postnatal Support

Nurturing you whilst you settle into life with your new baby. This service can include infant feeding support, light household tasks, bringing or preparing you a meal, debriefing your birth experience, navigating infant behaviour (sleeping, feeding etc), sign posting to local support services. Charged at an hourly rate, minimum 3 hours.

Hey, I’m Alex

I've been a doula for over 13 years. In that time I've also trained as an antenatal educator and doula mentor, and founded The Original Birth Connection, a doula training organisation. I know this work well — and I care about it deeply.

I'm a mum of three, stepmum to four, and when I'm not reading or spending time with my horses, I'm probably thinking about birth. It's not a professional interest that stays at arm's length. It's something I'm genuinely invested in.

I believe everyone deserves a doula who is confident, knowledgeable, and fully present for them — not just in the room, but actually useful. As your doula, I'm here to help you navigate pregnancy and birth with good information, honest conversation, and consistent support, so that the choices you make feel like yours.

That includes supporting you if you choose to birth without maternity services. Whatever your path, I'm here to support it without judgment.

She/her.
